Trip Itinerary

Day 1

One-Day Delhi Trip

Start your day by boarding the Huda City Centre Metro on the Yellow Line, heading towards Central Secretariat Metro Station. The journey will take approximately 40-45 minutes, and once you reach central Delhi, your exploration begins.

1. India Gate (9:00 AM - 10:00 AM):
Your first stop will be India Gate, one of the most iconic landmarks of Delhi. This majestic arch is a war memorial dedicated to soldiers who died in World War I. The gate stands tall and is surrounded by lush green lawns, creating a perfect environment for a morning stroll. You can also admire the views of the nearby Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House. This is a peaceful and ideal starting point for your day of sightseeing.

2. Qutub Minar (10:30 AM - 12:00 PM):
From India Gate, head to Qutub Minar, located in the Mehrauli area. The Qutub Minar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is one of the tallest brick minarets in the world. Standing at 73 meters, it dates back to the 12th century and showcases the grandeur of Mughal architecture. The complex also features the Iron Pillar, an ancient marvel that has stood for over 1,600 years without rusting. Take your time to explore the intricate details of the monument and its serene surroundings, spending about 45-60 minutes here.

3. Lunch at Khan Market or Nearby Café (12:30 PM - 1:30 PM):
After exploring Qutub Minar, head to Khan Market, one of Delhi’s most renowned shopping and food hubs. Here, you can indulge in a variety of cuisines—from Indian and Continental to Middle Eastern. This area is perfect for lunch and offers a mix of fine dining and casual eateries. Khan Market is also a great spot for quick shopping, with unique boutiques and luxury stores to explore.

4. Humayun’s Tomb (2:00 PM - 3:00 PM):
Next, travel to Humayun’s Tomb, a significant Mughal architectural gem and a precursor to the Taj Mahal. Built in the 16th century, this tomb is surrounded by beautiful Persian-style gardens. The tomb’s symmetry and stunning design make it one of the most beautiful heritage sites in Delhi. It’s a peaceful and reflective spot, and you’ll want to spend around an hour here, soaking in its history and tranquility.

5. Jama Masjid & Red Fort (Optional) (3:30 PM - 4:30 PM):
If you have time, you can visit Jama Masjid, one of India’s largest mosques. Built by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, Jama Masjid stands out with its grand courtyard and towering minarets. If you wish, you can also explore Red Fort, another UNESCO World Heritage Site and a symbol of India’s rich history. The fort, with its imposing red sandstone walls, was once the residence of Mughal emperors. These sites are located near each other, and depending on your schedule, you can either visit one or both.

6. Lotus Temple (5:00 PM - 6:00 PM):
Your next stop is the Lotus Temple, a Bahá'í house of worship known for its unique lotus flower design. The temple’s architecture is modern and striking, offering a sense of peace and serenity. Whether you’re religious or not, the temple provides a tranquil space for reflection. It’s a perfect place to unwind before continuing with your trip.

7. Connaught Place / Dilli Haat (6:30 PM - 8:00 PM):
For your final stop, head to Connaught Place, Delhi’s bustling heart, known for its vibrant atmosphere and shopping opportunities. You can stroll through the inner circle of Connaught Place, explore a variety of shops, and indulge in street food. Alternatively, visit Dilli Haat, an open-air market that features traditional handicrafts, ethnic clothing, and local delicacies from all over India. It’s a great place to pick up souvenirs and enjoy some local cuisine.

8. Return to Gurgaon (8:00 PM):
After a fun-filled day of exploring Delhi, take the metro back to Gurgaon. From Connaught Place, board the Yellow Line Metro and head to Huda City Centre Metro Station (approximately a 40-45 minute journey).
